About the National Vaccine Catalogue

The National Vaccine Catalogue (NVC) is the Government of Canada’s publicly accessible information repository on all vaccines authorized for use in Canada. Additionally, it includes standardized SNOMED CT terminology for select international vaccines, facilitating recording of vaccines received abroad within Canadian immunization registries. It is maintained by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and is part of the Government of Canada’s ongoing commitment to provide vaccine-related information to Canadian Federal, Provincial and Territorial partners, healthcare professionals and the public. The National Vaccine Catalogue supports standardized data collection, vaccine coverage surveillance, life cycle management of vaccines, and immunization programming in Canada.

The National Vaccine Catalogue is updated weekly and includes:

  1. Vaccine data from Health Canada – Drug Product Database
  2. Vaccine lot and expiry date information from Health Canada’s Biologic and Radiopharmaceutical Drugs Directorate
  3. SNOMED CT from Canada Health Infoway
