We are excited to introduce new features in the NVC application, all designed to improve the user experience and deliver more comprehensive information. Below is a summary of the latest improvements that are being deployed:
Infoway SNOMED CT Patient Picklist: New Terminology Addition
- The new terminology, developed and published by Infoway on May 30, was created in consultation with provincial and territorial stakeholders through a working group formed under Infoway’s Public Health Surveillance Community (PHSC).
- It is designed to be more user-friendly for the public, support use in immunization consumer applications, and complement the display names in the tradename and generic subsets within the NVC.
- The terminology was built following a defined pattern and guidelines. For further details, please refer to the Picklists Guidelines.
- It is available in the NVC tradename and generic browsing tables, as well as in the Excel workbook under both the tradename and generic tabs, and the last four mapping tabs.
Updated glossary page algorithm
- The search algorithm for the glossary page has been updated so that the best match results are shown first instead of showing alphabetically.
- It is now possible to provide fuzzy search results which provides results on partial matches, typos, and variations in formatting of searches.
