Release notes

Changes to the NVC have been made since the last release v1.52 (2025-03-20). For your reference, please find a summary of the changes below:

Vaccine lots

• Refer to the 'Vaccine Lots' tab in the Excel workbook to view which specific vaccine lots are new. Column C contains a flag indicating whether a lot is new (marked as 'YES' or 'NO'). You can also find these flags in column J of the 'LotTradenameMapping' tab

We are excited to announce several new features and updates to the National Vaccine Catalogue (NVC), aimed at enhancing the overall user experience and providing greater flexibility.

New Subscription Process for Release Notifications

• A new subscription feature has been deployed in the NVC. It can be found on the About/Subscription tab.
• Currently, weekly notifications describing database updates are sent directly via the NVC inbox. Moving forward, users can subscribe to receive automated notifications, which will include a link to the release note detailing all updates.
• During the transition period, both systems will run in parallel for [2 weeks] to allow users time to subscribe. After this period, direct email notifications from the NVC inbox will be phased out.
• Notifications related to feature deployments will continue to be sent via NVC email based on the NVC list of subscribers

*****Action Required: Subscribe for Future NVC Notifications: To continue receiving update notifications, please subscribe via About / Subscribe - National Vaccine Catalogue before [April 17, 2025]. After this date, weekly email notifications from the NVC inbox will be discontinued.

Advanced Filters

• New advanced filters have been deployed in the NVC for both the Trade Name browsing subset and the Vaccine Lot subset, allowing for more precise data selection.
• Trade Name Subset – New Filter Options:
  • Product Status – Drop-down menu
  • Marketing Authorization Holder (MAH) – Autofills based on entered text
  • Vaccine Lot – Free-text field
  • DIN – Free-text field
  • Concept Details Page – Embedded filter for the Lot Number content section
• Vaccine Lot Subset – New Filter Options:
  • Product Status – Drop-down menu
  • Marketing Authorization Holder (MAH) – Autofills based on entered text
  • International Sourced – Checkbox option
  • Expired – Checkbox option
  • Vaccine Lot Extension Issued – Checkbox option
  • New Since Last Release – Checkbox option

Page Pagination Enhancement

• A new "Show All Entries" option allows users to view all records within a selected subset.

New Glossary Page on NVC website

• The Glossary page serves as a centralized place to find definitions for terms used within the NVC, helping users gain clarity on any unfamiliar or technical terms.
• The page is accessible via a dedicated tab and enables quick alphabetical navigation to quickly find terms by their first letter.
• A broad text search functionality allows the user to quickly locate specific terms, improving the efficiency of finding the exact information you need.

New Excel Workbook Tab

• A new tab, LotAgentMapping, has been added to the Excel workbook, and the data dictionary has been updated accordingly to reflect this addition.
• This tab is similar to the existing LotTradenameMapping tab but includes additional mappings and data fields:
  • Generic concepts mapped to tradename concepts
  • Generic Last Update Date
  • Tradename Last Update Date
  • Last HC Update Date

These updates are designed to improve the user experience within the NVC and enhance the overall functionality of the platform. We hope these changes will make data navigation more efficient and user-friendly.
