Changes to the NVC have been made since the last release v1.36 (2024-11-21). For your reference, please find a summary of the changes below:

Feature Update •A fix was made where if there is more than one tradename linked to a DIN in the lot table, all tradenames will now be displayed.

Updated DIN-tradename mapping rules for COVID Vaccines •Lot numbers are linked to DINs, which are then mapped to tradenames. Previously, Health Canada assigned a new DIN for each COVID-19 vaccine strain update, but now the same DIN is used even when strains change. For example, last year’s XBB-specific tradenames and this year’s new non-strain-specific tradename share the same DIN. Since lots are mapped to DINs, this resulted in both tradenames being linked to lots from both years.
•To resolve this exceptional situation, the NVC mapping rules were updated to account for the COVID-19 lot numbers. This ensures that: o Lots with Approval Dates ≥ September 2024 are mapped to the new non-strain-specific tradename. o Lots with Approval Dates < September 2024 are mapped to the XBB-specific tradename.

Therefore, lots mapped to the following DINs have been updated in the NVC: • 02541270 • 02541823 • 02541831 • 02541858 • 02541866 • 02543656
